Letter from the President
The ETCW will perform their tenth annual Winter Concert, Soundscapes, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches, Texas. The performance will begin with an octet from the 18th Century by a lesser-known composer, Josef Mysliveček, and continue with Classical works from the 1900s. The theme of this concert (a nod to the piece, Seascapes, Op. 53, by Ruth Gipps) reflects the variety of emotional content present in this season's musical selections.
In their first decade, the ETCW has performed twenty admission-free concerts for the community. The ensemble motto is "Music for the Sake of Music," and the grand experience of listening to them play is something I look forward to throughout the year. As the ETCW enters its second decade, we are excited to continue our biannual concerts and also to unveil several new initiatives. I would like to thank our current Solfége Donors for their continued support and encourage all music lovers in East Texas to join our community by becoming a member.
On behalf of the ensemble, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year and hope to see you at the Winter 2026 Concert!
Tracy Doss
ETCW President
